Well what do you know?
Not a lot actually considering we still don't know the real reason why we're here.
Here are a few ideas I've read about that may be of interest to you.
Obviously we're here to procreate, since its in our genes, but toward what end?
To be better people? To explore space and time?
Personally I think we are in some ways aiming for a higher plane of existence, be it that of a spiritual one or just pure energy, without the drawback of a body.
The theory of spirituality is explained in the book 'The Celestine Prophecy' by James Redfield, it is loosely based on the ancient scriptures of the Peruvians, it reads as a novel but it is very insightful and quite an eye opener.
Another book well worth a read is the 'Bible Code' by Michael Drosnin. Be warned read this book only if you have an open mind because it contradicts everything religious.
Imagine that three thousands years ago when the Torah ( the first five books of the bible) were written in Hebrew that A Man/ Entity was able to hide a code so complex that a computer today would find it tough to encode. Amazing isn't it?
This is probably why the Jewish rabbis copied the original by hand exactly as one letter wrong and it would disrupt the code as in some instances one letter could be used thousands of times. It predicted Yitzhak Rabin's assassination and had the name of the killer, also the Oklahoma bombing in 1995 was contained within the Torah, including the name of the building, the time the bomb exploded and the man who was responsible, Get your head round that!!
The Hiram key by Christopher Knight & Robert Lomas is another amazing insight into the beginning of religion. It tears Christianity apart with it's ideas about the origins of the religion, and much much more, this is a must read book, read it then re-evaluate your opinion on religion, I did!!!
The Book 'Life between Life' is yet another eye opener, a hypnotist who is fully qualified, also does regressive hypnotism when there was no apparent reason in their current existence why they were having profound psychological difficulties, wrote this book after 12 years of test cases and involving other noted doctors of his field to carry out their own tests. It tells you of a place you go to between life, while you're in essence waiting for the next life on earth. There are detailed accounts of patients he has hypnotized and what they have seen, this all came about with a slip of a tongue to a woman under hypnosis. Read!!
